MYSCHIEF
Biography
Lyricist and wordsmith, Made Myschief is a country boy with a hint of city born and raised in the small city of Marion, SC where music, football, basketball, and fighting all they knew. As a social chameleon, Myschief was known by many people there, but never fit in with one group. Made Myschief was always speaking so he was called “weird”. He never was able to check off the box of “hood” but also could never identify with being a “preppy boy” or a black kid from the suburbs. He thinks of himself as someone who can blend in and get along with different cliques without taking on their identity and remaining true to himself.
Made Myschief had a very rich and diverse music journey. He comes from a musically gifted family that sung in the choir. He started writing poetry and rapping with his oldest brother whose stage name is King III Ru aka Don Burgundy. It all started with making beats on the high school table surrounded by a crowd cheering him to spit
His friends once challenged him to battle rap a kid who thought that he was the best at rapping and always talked shit about everyone who rapped. He finally got his chance to go toe-to-toe and ended the battle crushing his opponent in the worst way possible with crazy insults. He still remembers the adrenaline rush that came from the crowd cheering him on “Finish him up, Mac Man”. This was the first time he had ever been hyped for anything and this boosted his confidence and earned his respect.
His middle and high school years were pivotal in learning and exploring musical sounds. He started out playing the clarinet in 7th grade. He was seen as weird because he was a chunky boy and boys never played the clarinet. By the time he was in high school, he met the band director that really opened up the world of music for him. He taught him how to play the saxophone and by the time he graduated he could play 40 instruments and had a solid understanding of music theory.
His love for music leads him to going to college for music. He attended Coastal Carolina University to play in what was the first marching band for the university in 2003. Made Myschief makes music that transcends hype and age. Fans love him for his wordplay, witty phrases, and gritty truth. He aims to make music for any purpose and give lyrical messages projecting a full range of emotions of the human experience. Made Myschief wants to be the voice for the “weird” ones and the “underdogs” who feel like they don’t fit in and show that its okay to be different. He hopes that listeners will take his music and make light out of darkness. Made Myschief put together a 9-track EP called “Blacc Pinata” where he shares verses of the past and present and fans got to see his growth as a black man growing up in a small racist town.
His oldest brother remains his biggest inspiration. We started together, and to this day still a phone call away, matching bars, updating each other on their musical endeavors. He was also inspired by artists like Q-tip, Mos Def, and Busta Rhymes.
Outside of music; He is a hardworking husband and father. He is blessed to marry someone who also loves music. He met her during his time at Coastal, she was a flute/piccolo player.
He currently resides and reps Myrtle Beach, SC.
